The fiber in your diet reduces the bile reabsorption in the intestines, and this bile is excreted from the body through feces: to make up the loss of bile salt, the body produces more bile. The liver has to provide more LDL receptors to increase the production of bile salts. These LDL receptors pull out the LDL cholesterol from the blood. Thus, a fiber-rich diet is useful in reducing lower total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol.
